He / Him / His / She / Her / Hers
To me, Community means Love and Support. While I don’t believe the Gay Community as whole lives up to those standards (does any community for that matter?), I have found that finding your own niche within the Community where Love and Support abound is greatly possible. When you begin to know and love yourself you will begin to seek out the right group of people who will come and lift you up.
If you are struggling with your gender and/or sexual identity, Remember: It’s all a spectrum, and it’s all a journey. Don’t feel like you have to figure it all out right away. Just know that you are enough, and that who you are becoming is exactly who you’re meant to be. Be patient with yourself, and do your own research.
I’m sorry that we live in a world that cannot handle the incredible masterpiece that you are. If you are absolutely unable to be in a place where you can be your complete self I pray that you are given moments of joy and happiness. Maybe you are meant to be the change you wish to see, and if so I ask that you proceed with caution, but nevertheless proceed. Life is too short not to live it fully. And if also possible go on vacation to places where you can fully be yourself so at least in those moments you have peace of mind knowing that you always have a place to go where you can be free.
If you are experiencing bullying, peer pressure or force because you are queer: IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT! You have done nothing wrong. You are enough. Seek help and guidance. You’re not alone. You are important. You’re here for a purpose. Work on your talents, your gifts, your passions, and they will help alleviate, and possibly eradicate many of the negativity you’re experiencing.
